I’m a full time student, so I don’t have much disposable income. I really needed a day off from work and school and checking out Montreal Comic Con seemed like a fine way to spend a Sunday. It’s fairly easy to go and have a good time with out spending much more than the price of the con ticket. The majority of the celebrity panels are free, many of the celebrity guests don’t charge if you just want to say hi and shake their hand, and you are surrounded by amazing, creative like minded people.
I went to say hi to Wil Wheaton at his autograph table and I asked him if I could just buy one of his books that he had for sale since A) I couldn’t really afford the signature and photos he had for sale and B) I really wanted to read some of his stories. He said I could just buy the book, which I did, and he generously signed it anyways. We had a great chat about roller derby as well!
